When Chilhowee began designing leather motorcycle mud flaps, we had three things in mind: 1) Make mud flaps that will protect your bike, 2) make your ride look better than it did before, and 3) make the mud flaps last forever. And that's exactly what we did! Chilhowee Leather Mud Flaps are the finest leather mud flaps that money can buy.

These aren't the hang-from-the-center type mudflaps, either. They follow the contour of your fenders from one side to the other - actually extending and lowering the look of the fenders. The effect makes your bike look longer and bigger. It's amazing what a little quality leather can do!

Chilhowee Mud Flaps are handcrafted with two (2) layers of stiff 10 oz veg-retanned buffalo hide (impervious to water, grime, oil, and dirt) and are sewn around the edges with heavy rot-proof stitching. They're the thickest, stiffest mudflaps available - bar none. They come with all necessary mounting hardware and these mud flaps won't come off like the mud flaps that use a Velcro-only mounting system.

Chilhowee handcrafted Mud Flaps are the finest quality:

1. We start by selecting our hides by hand. That means we pay close attention to each hide and handpick the best leather for the job - and only the finest cuts are used.

2. Then Chilhowee artisans cut out the mud flap template for your specific brand and model from durable 8 oz full grain, specially tanned Buffalo hide.

3. If you order studs, we mark the mud flap for them (1 ¼-inch centers) and then hand-mount the finest quality studs available, guaranteed not to rust. You decide if you want studs!

4. Now a premium quality concho, if that's on your option list, is positioned on the leather and installed. You pick out which concho or none at all!

5. Next, we select another super thick cut of the same hide and sew it to the underside of the mud flap using rot-proof stitching to make your mud flap stiff and extra durable. If you select edge piping, it is sewn between the two layers of leather at this stage.

6. If you opt for the hand-laced edges (our favorite), we mark the mud flap for the locations of holes (1-inch centers), and punch each hole by hand. Using 1/8-inch full grain leather lacing, the outside edges of the mud flap are laced by hand to complete the look. You decide what kind of edging!

7. Finally, your mud flap is treated with Buffalo Butter Advanced Leather Conditioner and 303 Anti-fade Protectant to give your motorcycle leather product a great start at a long life!
